PUMA Commission of New Bannerette
Over recent months the Police
Unity Memorial Association have developed a strong, mutual bond with the
Metropolitan Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums. Indeed, it was at our
request that Pipe Major
Dominic Murphy wrote "Peeler's Lament" to honour all fallen police
officers within the United Kingdom.
It is therefore with great
pleasure that PUMA announce the commission of a new bannerette,
to be carried by the Pipes and Drums on all official engagements.
The bannerette was presented to the band prior to their escorting the Lord Mayor of London
during the Annual Saint Patrick's Day parade, which was also attended by
PUMA members.
It was later officially received by Deputy Commissioner, Paul Stephenson,
Metropolitan Police Service
during the 62nd Annual Police AA Concert held in the Barbican Centre.
